From reading the posts I understand why our accountant (on his last day before retiring)  said don't bother and now have follow-up questions for our new accountant.

I enjoyed reading replys from Eleena and Elizabeth One of my BIL's now retired was some kind of bomb and or demolition instructor ( he got to train others how to blow stuff up ) he spent time at several different bases every year and ended up purchasing something near each of them ,he always said they may downsize for a while very seldom close.

I also plan to move back to Hampton Roads when I "retire," but for now the D.C. market provides the w-2 job that allows me to invest aggressively.My strategy (along with my husband, @RC Miller) is buy and hold with multi-families.
