Spouses scan be iffy about investing in RE simply because it takes a lot of work and your time.

Buildium does allow you to upload a PDF for each invoice if you want to group the account record with the paper record, but I think this is far too time consuming and cumbersome.The Epson scanner is great for high speed scanning receipts all the way up to 8.5x11 paper of any length.
