I was surprised at first, then I did some research, and found many success stories.Yes, I bought it from Hawaii, but the Ebay listing had a lot of pictures of the property, so I had an idea what I was buying.The house does exist, the deed is already recorded under my name.

I don't necessarily "need" the cash that's tied up in it but that is a big chunk of money I could potentially invest elsewhere (but without a known rate of return like I'd get on this place).The property is 2 hours from where I live so I need to find a property manager.Interested in any and all perspectives on this and happy to answer additional questions if they help paint the picture.

I would ask them for pictures of the property and then go look at the property and then run the numbers/comps myself.

I don't feel the 1% interest is significant in the over all picture, especially with all the hoops you need to jump through to get the loan.
