Rich Dad Poor Dad is a great book for beginners and you should be able to find it at the library.Look for a local real estate investors group to join and attend their meetings.

I still attend the meetups to help other new investors get a head start as well as partner with them by providing funding and guidance to get them through what is usually their first deal.
