Option 1- Being a house hacker at heart, the sfh has a unique big detached garage with about 550-650 sqft of space on the second floor that has central a/c and heat, a deck, and electrical box (only thing I would need would be to extend the plumbing from house to garage, about 20 ft maybe (digging trenches in dirt) still needing a bath and kitchenette.

It's more satisfying than it should be and honestly reveals some of the darkness in my heart that I take such joy in watching our calendar book up before theirs. 

Glad you did your research though and feel confident with your decision, can be small town drama but the lake and mountains will always have my heart.

We currently reside in Kenmore, Washington, but I have lived in Seattle for 30+ years and am really an urban girl at heart.  

What I’ve found is that following your brain over your heart never works out and I am definitely more passionate about the buyers side / investment side.

And don't get the idea that income producing property owners are hard hearted or tight fisted.There are many people in here who make it their business to house people who live in low circumstances (under the section-8 voucher program), but it's unlikely they will just let them live in a unit for free.If they did that they would be out of business in short time.Good Luck!

My heart says couple #1 but my mind says to wait it out.

Properties near the heart of town look to be very expensive (Montrose, Midtown, Heights, Wash Ave) and I am not familiar with the other areas of Houston since I just moved here.
