From what I read on the forums to-date, it seems like being an LLC member is not the way for me to go.

So here I am, asking for advice on how to go about building this team.Having a mentor, real estate agent, and a lawyer seems to be the first teammates I should strive for.Thank you in advance.

My current desire is to have multiple and passive income streams.

Regarding how far to go back-I guess it depends on what the goals of your financial statements are and how many transactions you have (ie: how long it will take to enter the data).

I’m getting ready to go look at a couple of duplexes for sale on 27th St., so we’ll see how that goes.

However, if you are on the south side of Framingham, in a less desirable neighborhood your prices aren't to far off.

I was convinced by my landlord/friend that buying and holding multi-family's was the way to go, but after reading books and listening to the BP podcast, I find myself open to some of the other real estate investing methods.

If you don't want to (or not ready yet) to go self-directed route, do as Mindy suggested and rollover your 401k into Vanguard IRA and invest into one of their index funds.

People don't want to go out in February and house hunt.  

I do have other significant assets I want to protect, so I know I want to go the LLC direction.
