Your comment did make me realize I neglected to include another relevant detail - I am not necessarily dependent on this condo for housing as I have family I can stay with for a few months.

Even if you are using an FHA you can always move out before a year is up if other circumstances come up.I also agree that you need to decide on how you are looking at your father's home.

Once approved, they have to put the deposit down and start paying rent and utilities within 7-10 days (depends on circumstances and what I'm willing to accept).The point is, I don't adjust my policies or procedures to transfer someone from one unit to another.

The way I see it they were in position of a fully functioning refrigerator in a fully functioning unit and damaged the refrigerator through neglect.
