In my market, I have seen a couple get released/sold to other banks.  

If the interest rates are high (double digits)-think about paying it down faster.

Some of the banks have auctions.I looked at property at what I call the Thailand Housing Bank GHB (think HUD or Fannie Mae).  

On the other hand, the tenant may be more likely to move to a different apartment since there are more options on the market and they could find a better fit.I think you can make an argument that it's actually better to have leases expire in "slower" or less desirable moving seasons like the fall and winter.

@Vontarius Dameko, I think the future of titles to real estate will involve blockchain technology, but I think it won't be about title companies who handle closings.

Thinking LVP or prefinished hardwood and some solid surface counters with lowes quality cabinets.

To be honest, I think we may just need to bear the costs and learn from this and do regular unit checks going forward (which was not done by the previous property management company).
