An index fund is a better option...eventually, I'm a fan of paying them off and treating them like fixed income, but not now assuming that your financial house is in order and you like owning and managing real estate.

Then use a multifamily FHA loan to pay off the loan I used to build the homes to hopefully lock in a better rate.

@Evelin Negrete, it sounds like you are punishing them for being a little annoying and for you not managing that better.

In fact, 99.9% of wholesalers could make a lot more by flipping burgers at Wendy's.A better option is to get a job in real estate.

I have been interested in the US rental home market considering it is relatively organized and also with better yields.

Deals can get better over time.

When is it generally better to build something vs buy existing. 

Better think again if that $100 is worth it.
