For years, the only platform I used was VRBO.

I think the Airbnb platform is rather clunky for both owners and guests as compared to VRBO. 

Their customer service is incredible however, I think any platform is going to have syncing errors since all the interwoven software apps change constantly, the main platform is playing whack a mole.

Alternative, perhaps consider something like Zelle or PopMoney - this is fairly simple to set up and use and a lot of people are familiar with these already (and can be used between different banks on the same platform, I believe).
