It's been my experience that there are no original ideas out there - and the very few ideas that are "original" quickly get what I would call clingons riding shirt tails (watch the movie "The Big Short" and you'll see exactly what I mean).If you're defining it as not following trends, I'm still not sure how that goes because people are into everything....you've got gold/silver bugs, you've got REIT investors, you got investors that follow master limited partnerships, you've got various aspects of real estate, etc., etc.Personally, I read and digest what other people have done/are doing.  

,I look into duplexes, triplexes and quads regularly, and many times find things on the outskirts such as highland park, San Gabriel and eagle rock.

Eagle Creek can be fixed and flipped along with Fishers, Carmel, Noblesville and Broad Ripple.If you are interested in flipping in Indianapolis, I would be willing to have our broker pull comps for you on anything you are considering flipping before you do.

While some neighborhoods are better than others, there is no bad area to flip around there.With Highland Park, Echo Park, Silver Lake, and most of the cities directly surrounding downtown becoming overpriced and gentrified, East LA on out is becoming more and more desirable.
