I wanted to get rid of some window air units and wall gas heaters in a unit but can't afford central heat n air units.

I currently work offshore in the Oil & gas industry in the Gulf of Mexico (out of Port Fourchon, LA) working a schedule of 28 days on and 14 days off (gone from home a month followed by 2 weeks at the house).

Idk if I would be a huge fan of being at the mercy of college students paying their gas in the winter, which I am assuming the landlord is responsible for since there are 4 units and only 2 furnaces.

Will the basement unit have it's own water, gas, electric, internet, phone, cable TV services?

In my local area we have a ton of triple deckers and I would say about 85% of them still have these bulky very non energy efficient natural gas space heaters that are used to heat the entire apartment.

Odds are that 6 months of that interest rate is going to total up to more money than 1 set of refinance closing costs, but do your own math to validate.
