I know guys in tough neighborhoods in Jersey that make a killing doing this.

I haven't looked much at New Jersey mostly because I don't like to pay tolls to see rental properties....

Justin Burgos you can succeed here by having multiple investor or partners but not alone.When the market crashes again, that's when you go for NYC properties because there will be enough for many investors , but for now save up and look at New Jersey as an investment opportunity.

I am located in Downtown Jersey City and am just about to complete my renovation.

As far as where to invest now, I think just follow the trains so logical thinking is Jersey City.I feel the NYC is ripe for a correction and Jersey city is on the way up.

I was thinking about certain parts of Jersey to start...the profit probably won't be as high if I were to use a HML and flip closer to home, but areas like Irvington, Paterson, and East Orange, NJ were areas I was planning to visit this week.

I just separated from the United States Navy and relocated back home to the Northern Jersey area about 15-20mins.

My plan was to do two other investment properties in Jersey City or maybe 1 investment  and 1 for me to live.

As a new investor, I don't want to go too long distance at first, so I found some areas in South and central Jersey that looked like they have potential.
