But the concept has been around forever, long before the term hack came into current usage. 

I'm used to maple shaker style cabinets, which I feel having a wood grain, can hide minor dents and usage wear better.

Now a little bit about myself...I'm a remodeler/carpenter by trade and after a 3 month travel expedition around the country I have settled in Pinellas County, FL.  

So I came to the realization I didn't want to invest into a property in that area that would tie me there or cause me to return to it.While I was coming to this realization, I was also forming a new goal outside of real estate investing and that was traveling.My new goal is to use the money I was putting towards a down payment of a property towards traveling abroad for a year or so.

Now I havent heard of anything, the home my husband and I live in is owned solely by my husband, and I have an apartment that I rent 5 hours away from home as I work out of town and cannot travel every day.

I'm inclined to urge you to buy the rentals and travel while you can.  

The practice of wholesaling, and the industry usage of contract assignment, is beyond the purview of the unskilled consumer seller.
