Just looking to expand on my limited investment knowledge with you folks.  I currently have one investment property in Florida but need to get out of my comfort zone and take some risks.  This seems like the logical place to start.  My 2016 Q1 goal is to obtain my Real Estate Broker license and flip at least 1 house.  By 2017 Q2, I hope to have established a family owned investment company.  I would really appreciate good reading recommendations, seminars you enjoyed, and on-line resources you found interesting.  Here we go!

 Thanks for the mention Vish.

Denise, like you I am an engineer by background as well. You can use your analytical skills in analyzing deals and analyzing markets but don't use it too much (or else you will fall into analysis - paralysis). I suggest you listen to all the podcasts, starting with mine (LOL):

I reveal there how I acquired a 100+ unit apartment complex worth $6M with only $5,000 out of pocket. I reveal there how I lost a 30+ unit building to foreclosure so you will know what NOT to do when acquiring a property. And lastly, I reveal there how I made over $37K on a property that other investors would just pass on because they don't know how to make money on a house you buy at 93% of market value.

Regarding your goals, I think you should multiply them by 5 or even 10. If you do, you will start thinking creatively how you can raise money for that many deals. And talking about goals, one of my goals is to make $1M in 12 months through Joint Ventures with BP Members. Here's what happened to that goal last week.
