I've relocated to the Houston Texas area. 

Some of our large, reputable companies in US have now been relocating to Texas (Oracle/ Boeing) from WA/CA.  

I was a little nervous to relocate out there but after reading all the plans I feel a lot better.

No.Job transfer, get closer to family that needs care, starting college classes are some of the relocation reasons.

However our saving grace was a sales company out of Utah with whom I had connections and we cut a deal to house many of their temporarily relocated salesman in Nashville.

hi you can remotely brrrr out-of-state and hunt for a deal on mls virtual probably now, but it looks like you're trying to time relocation of self, where you want to live someday and buying a rental together.  

I am weighing all of this against possibly relocating to the Tampa Area, down the road some years (where the market is on fire right now).
