By posting on BP, developing a BP network, and reading real estate books, you will do fine in RE, no matter the major.Tech is drastically changing the way we do things, but one thing tech won't be able to replace is human interaction and understanding (in the near future), which I would say is the most important aspect of real estate investing.I ended up majoring in Political science, while taking a few business classes.

Today we did the foundation inspection and found the kitchen and laundry "heaving", the foundation tech. thinks this is most probably due to a leak in the sewer pipes, and he strongly recommends to do a plumbing test prior to move forward with the deal.

Also if there is a needed repair, I get the tenant to take a digi pic of it vefore and after repair (I am out of state).My older tenants seem to not be very aware of tech.

Any experience with "restore".Specifically concerned about some mixed reviews:seems to get 5star or 1star depending on if it peels a year later.Looking to paint steps that have a bunch of little cracks and damage from being covered in outdoor carpet.Also looking to facelift a patio area with patched (previously cracked) cement.I generally like to make thinks look nice, but need to go with the clean/paint ratger than replace motto so I can save $$.

Setting up utilities, especially TV and internet, is a pain, and sometimes the tech support won't help your tenants when they call, even if you put their names on the account.For me, renting by rooms is an acceptable last resort when I can't fill my units with groups.
