Now, the other consideration to take into account is that a "historical mansion" is a pretty huge jump away from the majority of projects that people discuss here on BP.

It's true you have considerably less ability to vet a renter on airbnb, however, since it's a short term rental isn't the task of finding a perfect renter a little less critical?

These guys are making many multiples of what I make, and actually working considerably less.  

Another consideration is location.My multifamily properties tend to be the only multifamily homes on the street it is on and so far I have only purchased a few that are within walking distance from canals and rivers.With the exception of one retiree, all my other tenants in those multifamily own a paddle board or kayak, and a bicycle. 

Some of the key indicators are of course location, restriction on type of billboard that can be built (LED, # of billboard faces, height, size of billboard face, etc.), zoning/permitting requirements/process and the size of the company.
