Pictures pre-move-in, preferably with them in the unit in pristine condition help also.  

Complete your profile and include a picture.

For example, my current pictures aren't great, but I would like to get the listing active now, then remove older pictures and add improved pictures next week. 

It's not easy, especially since they do not allow you to take pictures of the documents on the screen, you have to write each name and address down.

From what I've seen the statistics provide a very incomplete picture of the true investment market here.

My advice would be paint and hardware, tile the backsplash and call it good, from the pictures the kitchen is pretty nice, tile, faucet and lighting, keep it to a minimum, unless your competition is over the top, otherwise save the money.
