Hi Linda, I guess I am not getting the full story in the beginning of the transaction...You have to buy out one member of the group?

Wether this discussion is a basic formula or your own success story on what you've done, I'm trying to get an idea of what my best approach is to grow the fastest. 

Depends on will it be a 2 story or 1 story, brick or vinyl or hardie plank, hardwood floors, etc.

I admit I do not know Portland, and sounds like you are not yet overly familiar yet either, so I still think my story and advise apply ...Some time ago my wife and I moved from LA to OC for a job.

At the least we can trade stories. 

(long story - short) I am looking for a lender that I can work with even if this works out, I plan to do more purchasing and I would like to be able to bypass these issues.Thanks again.Jack

Being new, we would love to learn a thing or two from others in the area (different strategies, success stories in specific areas, etc).

With more challenges to conventional lending, a lower median income than Anchorage, and a little uncertainty in terms of taxation, staying in a rental might have it's appeal for awhile.I remember the decline from the eighties, this is not the same story.  

Back Story:   I purchased a very nice Duplex 10 years ago.
