They definitely exist, the East Dallas/Junius Heights area is a great place to start, but they are few and far between.

If I make it a more standard height, say 36" or so, I will have to purchase a slide in stove which increases the stove costs from roughly 500 to 1,000 or have the back of the stove sticking up which I'm afraid will look pretty ugly.

The last one I looked at was great on paper, good asking price and I almost was planning to offer before seeing to lock it up.There was 4" of water in half the basement, 1/3 of the height of the walls in the finished basement covered in mold, an addition with the walls bowing out, the roof ridge beam bowing down, and a bunch of adjustable columns in the basement under this area actually pushing the floor joists up (putting a bow in them).
