Opening a wall...how high?

I am opening up the wall between kitchen and DR on a buy and hold two family I am rehabbing. The stove will be behind the opening and I'm debating on how high to make the wall. If I make it high enough to cover the back of a standard stove, it will have to be about 48" high. If I make it a more standard height, say 36" or so, I will have to purchase a slide in stove which increases the stove costs from roughly 500 to 1,000 or have the back of the stove sticking up which I'm afraid will look pretty ugly. I would say this unit is close to a B+.
