Many people have real estate in their personal names and get a good umbrella policy for additional insurance.

The POA that I live at starts at $50, then $100, then $250 or $500 (depending on if the item is safety/nuisance to the neighbors or cosmetic).  

So I would say the going rate for a friend to do the managing for the safety of your property is what it's worth.

An umbrella insurance policy will protect me in the meantime.
