If you have a lux rental it might be worth purchasing carpet for a bedroom but the cost will be more than the new Luxury Vinyl Tile(LVT)  Floors which are so popular now for durability.- but be careful, the low end ones do scratch!  

I definitely think they are lying and that they are possibly wanting to pursue me for a few nights of of lodging and damage to their stuff, though our lease is pretty tight in that regard.
