@Mona Arthur I am a Realtor and would suggest that you add a supplemental heat unit (Monitor heater, gas or propane fireplace, pellet stove) this way you can advertise more than one type of heat without replacing the entire heating system.

I speculate in neighborhoods based on infrastructure projects and changes in demographics but changes are often times unsteady and I know that if I pick 10 different areas to buy in, some will do better or worse than I expected.

However, I already had one property there (OH) and all the infrastructure in place so that was immensely helpful and not sure I would have done it without that already in place.I would think flipping is still an option here in CA.

Start with the MLS, but get use to having MLS on monitor one, and your chosen title company's title lookup website on monitor two, and of course google on monitor number three to see what "123 Main LLC" is and if that owner of public record is married to someone with a criminal history.

It's always advisable to share utility meters because of gas and electric deregulation have led utilities to put gigantic fixed fees on infrastructure like meters because they can't price gouge on the gas and electricity.
