David Bowie has a message in a bottle for you…..

He called me after the deadline and counter offered 600,000 while leaving me all the inclusions in the house such as a 1,200 bottle wine collection and all the furniture in the house but, instead of 550 he wanted 600k.

Some things I do or have seen on the forum so far:Remove storm doors.Advertise rentals on craigslistRemove or lock outside spigots.Submeter or RUBS the utilities you pay yourself.Put in low flow showerheads and put 2 liter soda bottle in toilet tank.Convert laundry room to pay.Convert all bulbs to fluorescent.Replace grass with groundcover, gravel, flowers, etc.Buy your own pressure washer - $85 at WalMart.Buy post 1989 buildings (lead).Advertise & Rent entire duplex to one family (I did this).Have tenant rents ACH or have them deposit to your account.PLEASE keep items to one sentence and list each separately!!!

Upon entering the attic space, I found almost 250 recycled 3 liter pop bottles filled with water.  

When done right with some proper aggregate...like the bear bottles we put in a recording studios counter tops, the concrete is every bit as nice as granite and frankly, quite a bit less passé. 

We used to pack a bottle of wine, a picnic and go mansion sight seeing.

The tenants we have in one of our houses are fantastic, love the house, keep it in great repair, rent is on time, and they even occasionally send us a bottle of home made wine, which is always a pleasant surprise.

Used to live in Longview between Campus Bottle and Cal Poly campus (go Mustangs!)

For example: I input the costs of a kitchen down to the number of bottles of caulk used.

@Christopher Baustert   I know it sounds great what your talking about however the reality is collecting said 900 dollar rent over time.... after you do this and have 2 to 3 years then you can see if it was a good deal and if you actually got your rent... that's one tough market for rent at that price point. good renters don't usually want to live were houses are being bought for the price of a nice dinner and a good to great bottle of wine:)
