Maybe a great decision for me when everyone was crying about their losses in the Dot.com bubble and this last 401K bubble, but if you knew to short the money you are sitting on a beach somewhere.My daughter purchased a condo 10 years ago for $150K. 

There’s only 1 serious headache that I’ve had so far and luckily they were all bark and no bite.Rarely have any damage over $50... mostly a broken dish or forgotten beach towel.

Hi All,I have been looking at some properties in Los Angeles (Long Beach) and I keep coming up with calculations that yield me barely any cash flow.

I am not an expert but we have a San Diego (Mission Beach) STR since before I heard of AirBNB (since 1998).  

Literally down the street from Clearwater Beach.

I say sell a few and invest in a nice personal residence in Cali, maybe on the beach somewhere. 

I have found a few condos and single family homes in gated communities down the street from the beach.

I sold my duplex in Long Beach, CA last year and bought a duplex and 3 single family homes here in Austin with a 1031 exchange.  118 people moving here every day and every economist saying Austin, the 11th most populated city in the nation, will double in size in the next 20 years. 

My husband and I are new to real estate investment and new to the Virginia Beach area.
