My husband and I are new to real estate investment and new to the Virginia Beach area. We are looking to meet folks in the local real estate investment community. Are there any BP meetups in the near future?

Welcome!

TRIG (Tidewater RealEstate Investors Group) meeting on 16th of this month in VA Beach. Also, hit up @Melanie McDaniel for her monthly meet up. She's my agent and is very well connected in to the Hampton Roads REI scene.

One more group that wasn't mentioned above - If you plan to landlord or already do, the Hampton Roads Landlord Assoc is one of my favorite meetups.

@Patti Robertson Thank you Patti for that very helpful information. Your name has come up several times during my search for local context. I have requested a connection with you through BiggerPockets. Can you please tell me how to find the Tidewater Real Estate Investors Group meet up on October 16th? I look forward to meeting you.

@Jonathan New Thank you so much for this helpful information. My husband and I have decided to combine BiggerPockets accounts and just use one. You can reach me at Joel Mattson-Boze. Thanks for the warm welcome.

@Joel Mattsson-Bozé - BP  won’t let us put Websites in this conversation threads but  TRIG Has a website that is easy to find if you Google it. You can either join on the website before you come or you can register as a guest. That will make your check in process easier.

    Joel/Beth,

Check out @Melanie McDaniel’s next meetup on November 12th, the guest speaker will be Christian Phillips who is a great property manager my wife and I have worked with for our rental properties here for the last ten years. And welcome to BP! Another group that may be of interest is the relatively new to this area Professional Investors Guild.

Good luck and hope to see you there!

    Best,

    Rhett
