Best Local Banks/Hard Money Lenders VA Beach & Norfolk

We're new to the world of real estate investing and are currently working on finding pre-approvals from local banks or hard money lenders in the Virginia Beach/Norfolk area.  We have about 16k saved that we'd like to invest into a few flips within the next year.  Then, use the money from the flips for a down payment on a large multi-unit for passive income.  

Do you have any favorite local lenders that you'd recommend?  I'm working with One Point National Bank now, but I'd love to branch out to see what other lenders have to offer in the area before nailing in a deal.

Are there any other financing avenues we should take a look into?
