A real estate broker or attorney could help you here or on the previous option.A legal document protects both parties, and most on here would recommend you use them, but sometimes between family members people don't use them.

I just went under contract on a multi-family in Sedalia.

So me and my future wife have seen hours of videos on the BRRR method, ADUs, cash on cash returns, and utilizing the way of adding equity into a home.

Instead of converting into a multi family I was exploring other options.

My advice would be to look at Multi-Family properties, since you can obviously rent whole units out for more than a spare room.

But after reading about the above, I am thinking, should I save up more and go for multi-family in the same/ similar market?

Hi Michael - I live in North Myrtle Beach now in an area called Barefoot Resort.  25 years ago, one individual, who happened to own a small, 7 shop strip mall on the beach-side of the intercoastal waterway known as Barefoot Shoppes, crossed the waterway to acquire 2600 acres of, well, nothing.He brought in Dye, Norman, Fazio, and Love to build four golf courses, and we now have 4000 residences between single-family homes, typical 3-level multi-family, and three towers overlooking the waterway.
