If you start with positive interactions and communications with the tenants (especially letting them know that you are making every effort for a smooth transition) the tenants shouldn't have any problem with signing a new lease and/or negotiating the terms of the new lease.

I think you would have a lot less to learn coming from a real estate background so it wouldn't be as challenging a transition.

If I can work with smart people to come up with transitional plan and a hero apartment plan- Build it- share all the docs and processes and plans with anyone who can use them and start a blueprint for others to improve on and follow.
