Depending on the state in which the foreclosure occurred, the deed has been lost in foreclosure to the lender or whomever bought the property at the foreclosure auction, if there was one.

It seems to me the banks are using agents to auction the properties to the highest bidder and disregard the contracted asking price, which to me is unethical .
