Got approved for a loan, EASILY (excellent credit score, lots of assets, GOOD income in a stable field-nursing) but I didn't get the first house I bid on, went to bid on a second house and hit a snag with that lender, talked to another lender who didn't approve of my working in home health, got approved by a third lender who said yeah no problem we can approve you for that second property then recanted his statement first saying that he didn't realize it was a multi-unit (BULLS**T.

The banks must not be convinced either, or the rate differential between the benchmark 5-yr fixed and the 10-yr fixed offerings would be greater.I am one of those who subscribes to analysis which demonstrates variable rate mortgages always win out in the long term (even back in the 1980s when it was painful).

@Sarnen SteinbarthWe've experimented with Nest a while ago, but they were tight lipped about their APIs and a bit of a pain to integrate into our system ... this may change with their new ownership, we shall have to wait and see.
