There's a trend on a few blocks around the University where investors are buying up inventory just for this purpose.  

Only thing I can think of is possibly filing a complaint with the BBB or having my lawyer send them a letter to make them realize if they do this unjustly they may have to pay for the financial damages it causes.

I just personally took a look yesterday and I mean in my opinion the fire damage is what will most significnatly impact the rehab costs but it is also the strongest leveraging item in the buying price.

He claims that is none of my business since the city owns it.While it is true the city does control the first 25 ft of property I am the one who will have to replace and repair any lawn damage, and i would be responsible to keep it mowed. 

In most cases, you can't claim damages just yet.  

There are a lot of properties for sale that were damaged from Sandy that have been taken down to the studs.

Things get damaged, so there is the dealing with repairs/replacement of items.
