so as I go though the blogs I noticed most people are choosing to form an LLC instead of a corp. for conducting business in real estate...... is there a reason why?

I can recommend Barry Scott (Scott & Co) in Raleigh (He has done many surveys for me in Raleigh/Chapel Hill).  

My goal is to quit my 9-5, which I been at 10 yrs and create a six figure income thus I can focus on my desires to form a construction business.

Its too far for me but I think Burlington and Mebane are good growing areas along this route.  

I think fix-and-flip is for me, but I'm still studying.

Is it necessary for me to form an LLC when I'm first starting out in the investment game?

The numbers and construction for me is the easy part.

Problem for me is that I lack the funding to purchase a turn-key rental.
