I've had electricity bills through the roof from guests who put the AC at rock bottom and leave it like that all day.Anyway - I appreciate the feedback, but I'm more interested to see if anyone has a recommendation on the thermostat criteria I listed.

One possibility: see if you can go to a temp agency and look for work in construction trades only - HVAC, roofing, electrical, framing, etc, as a general laborer.
