There is no small scale development available to individuals.

Just trying to connect with like minded individuals in my area.

I understand it's an individual business, but if most going rates are say $1,100 for a 2/1, then it kills me when I see competitive properties advertised at $900.

With two going into college, I am driven to grow more income through RE and would like to teach and inspire my daughters about building wealth through RE.

It really depends on which loan program is best for your individual situation, and also which programs each lender offers.  

For context, in a previous email from ChopperDad, he had attempted to construe the individual nature of her lease as meaning that her room comprised the premises of her rental, rather than the entire unit.
