Thanks Justin - That is what I was thinking as a way to  eventually get money into a solo 401K - to open a self directed IRA now, so I/we can get money into it for last year - which I believe would be a max of 6500 for me and possibly anything left between the 6500 amount allotted for my wife minus whatever she had already put into her 401K.
