I know it has a cool vibe and has become a bit of a destination in recent years, but I'd be more likely to consider something like that as a hybrid investment/summer vacation spot than as a full-time investment.Are you looking to buy and hold?

I'll be living in my primary residence and renting 3 other bedrooms out in Sunny SoCal, so that's a lot of excess electricity.

If that's the case I'd get a cheap pack of shims and just shim the lower one so the counter top doesn't have a bouncy spot. 

I don't see where there are extra opportunities than the one in front of me which is; renting a home.Ok, so one of our units has a couple of garage spots that I could rent out, but I care not to as I'm going to use them anyway. 

They told me they looked at a place that had missing spots in the kitchen flooring where the base cabinets used to be, and no range (the landlord told them the range had died and he didn't want to spend the money on a new one).
