The topic of the question regards "primary residence". 

For the past 6-8 months I’ve been doing my fair share of research and studying on the topic.

It feels strange to reach out to try to talk to people about a topic when you feel your not yet qualified to do so.

As mentioned in the comments here, check out the REIAs in your area and use the platform to find the people and topics of interest that align with your journey.The webinars, blogs, forums, podcasts and books have a lot of what you need.

You need to type in some key words regarding funding and research the thousands of threads that have already discussed the topic.
