I've heard a lot about Edmonton and the oil sands areas, but I'm wondering if there aren't some other hidden gems out there that you guys could recommend?

I have a Hunter "oil" type (where you add oil occasionally) in my living room that has been running almost non-stop whisper quiet for almost 30 years.

We see them all the time in the oil & gas business.

With all the oil drilling in North Dakota its my understanding that there's a shortage of housing where you are and you can make a lot of money renting places out.

The oil and gas industry has kept me busy but my interest in real estate has been steadily growing.

Plus here in West Texas, the market is still in a bit of a post oil crash slump.

Even with the price of oil as low as it is, we seem to never have enough rentals for people. 3/2 house rentals are really hot right now as people aren't buying.

That is where all the Banksters are waiting to sell us Snake Oil Solutions.

There's alot of businesses around me with huge workforce like baker hughes 2 minutes away, the police training academy, and many more oil companies, I would love to know how to get one of these big guys to come and want a store on my land I have no issue building them whatever, I just dont know the process of doing something like that. 

Drive through certain areas as well, looking for bars on windows (LOL), pitbull fences, oil stains on driveways or streets, too many cars on streets, general condition people keep their homes in....
