He was a local builder who was semi retired and I asked if he would like to over see some of the workers I had been using for the last 10 years and basically be a teacher and oversee the quality and timelines. 

Hi all Im a newbie in the real estate game, joined biggerpockets.com about a month ago and just got my first investment property located in Lynn Massachusets  (2 family home) I'm a full time chef,full time student and also trying to get my real state license.

I feel one has to use it in order to be a good teacher and I since I never use it, how can I teach it. 

Section 8, student, elderly, assisted living or market rate?

Id basically be living on a slightly higher college-student level budget for a while (no desire for a "big house".

Hi everyone,I am an out of work teacher who has dabbled in real estate in the past.  

I've only been vaguely interested in real estate up until know, through what little second hand knowledge I gained from just listening to the podcasts; but I am ready to become a serious student of real estate.

Would like to add one thing to make sure of as well, if your rentals involve student housing, and you rent out rooms.

It would depend on you as a student.

Of course none of this was legal or documented in anyway, but I still produced a cash flow of about 400 dollars a month and even managed to sell "the rights of the name Sebass' Brownies" to a younger student for a tiny amount of cash when I graduated.
