If the 'cost of money is roughly $600 per month, this equates to ~30 nights (through Management company), fewer nights if we were to engage AirBNB type service, and find local cleaning / turn-over service.

Our condo associations limit pet size to 20 - 25 pounds anyway, and would not allow what are considered dangerous breeds, nor would I.

Agree w/several folks on this thread that unless you and your mom want to be active and invest time and energy into learning a ton that just purchasing an apt w/o a lot of knowledge is dangerous.
