What does your process look like when choosing markets?

Your post may resonate with someone who is in the process of listing a traditional rental but who had never previously considered arbitrage.Please keep us posted on this thread on how you ultimately find your successful leads.

I'm looking to see if someone has a step by step process for finding finding the right market/deal or really any information on what sites/resources to use as I search. 

Originally, the property was designed as a retreat center, but it didn't receive the necessary planning approvals for broader use beyond a single family residence. 

I was looking at both markets myself, although if I thought of Austin I will likely check out San Antonio as well considering how close they are to one another.I liked the city of Austin the best because of the overall city and suburb design as well as the community it looked like the city had. 

We just about finished our first spec house, and loved the entire process much more than rehabbing.

Unless the contractor has professional liability coverage, not many avenues for recovery and even then its a long and costly process assuming the carrier picks up coverage.

As I learned more, I understood that screening was not a fixed process, but one that needed to be improved all the time.It wasn't just one person who had to deal with problems when underwriting deals.
