Since last year I've participated in 5+ auctions- a mix between live and online and been successful at two of them (two liens, one deed). 

I recently helped my family flip a home successfully and I would like to continue doing that.

But once you are successful on your first one, Mr Doubt begins to shrink.  

You could team up with a successful wholesaler from a different area and have them invest the time/money in marketing to get leads in your area, then you follow up on the incoming leads and split the assignment/whatever profit you make with the wholesaler.

Fund your first deal or two yourself, get some experience, build a portfolio of successful projects, and then lenders will be more willing to lend to you.If you can't put up the funds, I would recommend either getting a decent down-payment (20-40%) from friends or family, or finding another investor to partner with on the deal (he puts up cash, you put up equity), or worst case, wholesale the deal.
