Hi Sam,In apartments where we are paying for gas, rents are slightly higher to reflect that the utilities are included, so essentially a hidden utility fee.  

Selling it to you now will cause the following: escrow fees, title charges, likely property tax increases, and you will lose your advantage of "the step up basis" once they pass many years from now causing you to pay Uncle Sam more $.

Would love to write it off next year as an expense but wondering if that would raise a red flag with Uncle Sam.
