Laundry hookups in small SFR
How important do you think it is to provide laundry hookups in a SFR?
We are starting rehab on a very small (640 sq ft) home. It will be a 2/1 with detached garage. The former owner had installed laundry hookups in one of the 3 tiny bedrooms, but it wasn't done correctly, so it's coming out regardless. We'd like to provide a laundry area, but the house is so tiny! We don't want to provide the appliances, so stackable isn't an option.
I know it will be an asset to the rental, but I hate taking the space away from the living area.
Some info about the property:
This is currently by far the worst property on a very nice street, also the smallest, but with the potential to be a little gem. Our small town has one laundromat, about 1 mile away, which a lot of people use, but I think it's dumpy. Most of the small rental houses are old and run down, and don't have laundry. Rents here are not what most of you are used to - $750 is top dollar for a large house, I'll probably get $400 for this one.

Sylvia B.,
Pretty much everything can be done recessed into the wall, so that in the event they don't want the washer dryer there is nothing protruding out of the wall.
You can recessed the drain trap and stand pipe inside the wall cavity and use a rough in box for that.
For the dryer vent there are also rough in boxes.
Once your drywall is up you can put a panel cover over them if they are not going to be used.
