Over the last 6 years I have been retired as a real estate professional exclusively handling my own properties and living on the income generated.I don't regret the decision and will eventually fully retire.

I have been to the city once and it didn't seem too bad which has piqued my interest in living in the area.

First off, i live in Florida and my rental property is in OH.

I told them that it was a better idea that, instead of buying a home first, we can buy an investment property and keep renting after we build some equity, sell it and put the down payment for 2 houses or a duplex and live in one and rent the other one (for me, i could keep renting until we buy a lot of investment properties and then move to one of them), but my family wants to buy a home firts and then the investment property.Can someone give me a light of what is better or the pros and cons.Thank you so much.

I live in NC, I'm 41, my wife is a high W2 earner, and we don't plan on touching this money for 12-15 years. 

My first 2 years with them I lived in Seattle while they managed the properties here in Orlando.

Maybe I got over excited, since this was my first owner finance deal, but I was really taken by them- I wanted them to live and buy our home.

Most of us that lived in NYC invest out of state because the price points are significantly different elsewhere.  

We met in 2019 while we were both living in the Detroit area.

I've drawn the new build for an owner-occupant to have a single family home but with the option of having a "tenant"/roommate or family member (perhaps in-laws, or elderly parent/grandparent, or a brother/sister, who wants private, separate living space, etc.) living in their own space with their own separate utilities.
