The reason is the senior liens will be satisfied before yours so if there is not enough value in the property you are throwing good money after bad.When buying judgment liens you have to know the profile of the parties you are trying to collect on, the judgment renewal laws for your state, etc.When the statute of limitations has passed for instance you might not be able to collect for garnishment or bank levy but still offer a settlement so that you take off of their credit report if they care about that.
