Evaporative cooling is great in the desert Southwest, but people from anywhere else in the country do not understand that the A/C (Swamp cooler) and the furnace use the same venting system and only one can be utilized...this is uncomfortable in a month or two in the fall or spring as it is too hot or cold for portions of the day.

However, It may be best to sell your place here in Arizona and buy a duplex to fourplex in the midwest if you really want to move to a cooler state and get some more doors in your portfolio. 

The difference in Phoenix is there is nearly as much homelessness as Seattle, but the heat, 110 today causes more people to do break-ins to find somewhere cooler to be.What cross streets are you talking about and I might be able to give you a pointer or two.

As of now it is not heated but we are considering doing it once it gets a little cooler.

This said, we're planning, this summer, to start splitting our time between Mazatlan and a cooler summer climate somewhere to be determined here in Mexico.

It seems to me that people are way more productive in cooler weather.

We also include surprise amenities like beach chairs, beach towels and a small cooler since there is so much outdoor recreation around here.

The 1920s had cooler architecture and is plenty solid too.  

It should be 20 degrees cooler.
